Van Heerden pays his respect to Usuthu

AmaZulu bade farewell to long serving 28 year old defender, Marc Van Heerden following the completion of his transfer to Port Elizabeth based, Chippa United.

The former University of Pretoria man has had a solid eight years of service at Usuthu which saw him get a few Bafana Bafana caps under his belt.

“I want to say thank you for the continued support, love and kindness the supporters showed me. Playing in front of them was really special.”

“To the players thank you and always keep the flag of Usuthu flying high and keep playing with all you have for the club.”

“My reason for leaving was purely to challenge myself and to be back playing in the PSL. Thank you AmaZulu for the years and I wish you all well,” he said.

AmaZulu General Manager, Lunga Sokhela thanked the left-back for his commitment over the years with the club.

“Marc has been one of those players that have done their best for us and we’ve wished him well in his future endeavors at Chippa United.”

“Looking at our goals this season and the future it was fitting that we start with different personnel and let a few players move on to newer challenges for themselves,” said Sokhela.

He is a quality and a very dedicated player Amazulu have ever had. He’s controlling of the ball was amazing especially when taking free kicks. Chippa got themselves a quality player in Heerden. I wish him all the best at his new club and l have not doubt he’ll be successful at Chipppa. He didn’t deserve to play at NFD anyway.
