AmaZulu FC central midfielder Butholezwe Ncube has provided an update on his injury.
The Zimbabwe international has had time to focus on his rehabilitation with the 2019/20 season having been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Ncube, who is in his fourth campaign with the KwaZulu-Natal giants, is pleased with his recovery from the foot injury.
“I got injury just above the ankle outside my right leg,” Ncube said.
“But I am feeling stronger now and I am enjoying doing rehabilitation work all thanks to God.
“[The break enforced by] Covid-19 [outbreak] has also helped me a lot because I am recovering well.”
Ncube was substituted in the 83rd minute during AmaZulu’s last match which they won 1-0 against Kaizer Chiefs in an Absa Premiership clash on March 07.
The victory took Usuthu to the 15th spot on the league standings – three points behind 12th-placed Chippa United.
“Our performance has been great,” Ncube added when reflecting on how the team has performed this season.
“We have done well as a team and it doesn’t matter which position we currently find ourselves in on the league log.
“All that matters is us changing things so that we can be safe in the league, and we are keeping each other focused,” he revealed.
“We don’t entertain negativity. We remain positive and we believe that we shall give our best when the league resumes.”
The 28-year-old player made 18 appearances across all competitions for AmaZulu before the season was halted due to Covid-19 last March.Share
