‘Usuthu’ shares spoils with Stars

AmaZulu were held to a goal-less draw against fellow Absa Premiership side Free State Stars at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Both sides had their fair share of scoring opportunities, most of which emerged in the second half but the inept striking display rather than stout defence, accounted for the goalless stalemate.

In scorching, humid conditions, Stars struck early cohesion as they frequently worked their way into the AmaZulu half, playing mainly in channels down the left flank.

Free State Stars were on the attack from the first whistle when their quick ball exchange saw Manti Moholo  shooting a weak effort which  Usuthu keeper Mbongeni Mzimela easily saving. Despite being the home team, struggled to get into the  get into the game in the  first stanza opening 45 minutes. 
Stars` Mpho Makola came close to giving Stars the lead in the eighth minute when he drilled a 20-yard free-kick just over the crossbar.
AmaZulu did try to create  some chances for a goal
