Usuthu out to maintain fine run with Baroka win

AmaZulu FC are set to welcome Baroka FC at the King Zwelithini Stadium in the DStv Premiership match on Tuesday.

Kick-off is at 15h00 CAT.

Usuthu secured a 1-0 win over Lamontville Golden Arrows away in their last league game on May 1, with a goal from Luvoyo Memela.

It was KwaZulu-Natal giants’ third straight win – and they extended their unbeaten run in the league to 16 matches.

Usuthu have claimed 25 points from 13 home matches this season, with their last result as hosts a2-1 win over TS Galaxy in April.

Meanwhile, Baroka played to a 1-1 draw with SuperSport United away on May 1 with Richard Mbulu netting a late equalizer for the former.

As a result, Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele have managed just one win from their last nine league matches.

The Limpopo side has claimed 16 points from 13 away matches this season. Their last win on the road came against Stellenbosch FC back in January.

In head-to-head stats, Baroka and AmaZulu have met in seven league matches since 2017/18.

Usuthu have claimed three wins compared to two for Bakgaga, while two games have been drawn.

The Durban side boasts an unbeaten home record in the rivalry, with one win and two draws as hosts.

When the teams met earlier this season, at Peter Mokaba Stadium in January 2021, AmaZulu won 2-0 away thanks to goals from Bonginkosi Ntuli and Siphelele Magubane.
