Usuthu hold successfully training camp at Michaelhouse

AmaZulu Head of Medical, Burger Van De Merwe has lauded the club’s week long training camp at the Balgowan based Michaelhouse School in Maritzburg with one week away from AmaZulu’s 2016/17 season opening match.

Their first National First Division fixture sees them welcome Black Leopards on 28 August at the Princess Magogo Stadium at 15:00pm.

“The purpose of the camp was to build a good team spirit along with training daily at high intensity in a new environment.”

“Activities included a mixture of high quality training with group activities to build a team culture. New players and existing players were put together to get to know each other and everyone was taken out of their comfort zone to work towards solving problems together,” he said Van De Merwe.

On Friday AmaZulu played a friendly match against a local side to wrap up what the 36 year old Biokeneticist calls an excellent pre-season.

“Our stay at Woodridge Estate was excellent and the KZN midland was an excellent end to the preseason. The team looks ready to push on and start the season on a high,” he added.
