Top 5 Perfomances in 2011/2012 season

Hebe! Usuthu! Those are the cries of joy AmaZulu FC have been singing for the final quarter of the season as the PSL League was concluded.

What a stunning performance to lend the team in the 7th position for the second time since the 1996/1997 season. It is an achievement the whole team is proud of and wish to continue, but to go forward we must first look at the reasons that got the team where it is.

Today we look at the top 5 performers of the season in the Websites’ point of view. From number 5 down to the player we think were the most impressive.

5. Tapuwo Kapini

Not one of his greatest seasons but Tapuwo Kapini takes the number 5 spot for being the pillar at the foundation of Usuthu. With 27 appearances this season he stuck with the team from fighting a bad start to the season to lending in a much appreciated position. He has conceded only 23 goals in all the 27 appearances achieving 11 clean sheets.

4. Kagiso Senamela.

The 26 year old Attacking Midfielder has been a joy to watch especialy towards the closing of the season; he seemed to have found the spark just at the correct time. He has 1640 minutes on the field for Usuthu which total a number of 22 games played. The Vosloorus  born midfielder has a record of only 3 yellow cards and no goals to claim, but has about 4 assists in the most important games to take AmaZulu up the log. Number 4 for hard work and effort.

3. Tweu Mokoro

Doesn’t need an introduction is Tsweu Mokoro. The 1, 65 meters Left wing and sometimes Left back is a creative and hardworking player. His versatility on the field earns him favour amongst most of the players but importantly gives Roger Palmgren multiple options. Mokoro has played 28 games for Usuthu this season and it is not difficult to see the reason behind it. Speed, agility, composure and creativity are what make Usuthu a threat on the wings.

2. Thamsanqa Sangweni.

Young, gifted and on fire are some of the words you can use to describe the 22 year old future star. He is simply one of the upcoming defensive midfielders who hit the scene running. He has 24 games for Usuthu this season, 2 for the under-23 National squad and a cap for Bafana Bafana to show the talent in his legs. He simply takes the number 2 spot with no doubts.

1. Sthembiso Goodman Dlamini

Top goal scorer with 7 goals to his record in Usuthu colours. Goodman Dlamini takes the number one spot for best performance of the season. This lad has showcased 24 times this season, striking at the most crucial moments to earn his seven goals. He is given the name ‘Deco‘ because of the style of play that resembles the legendary Anderson Luís de Souza of Portugal. Clearly our ‘Deco’ in South Africa Dlamini had a fantastic run this season.
