Sithebe looking forward to Usuthu spreading their wings in Swaziland

A two week break from Absa Premiership action has presented Usuthu with a chance to spread their wings to Swaziland with two friendly matches and a visit to Nelspruit Spar DC from 22-24 March respectively.

A delegation made up of management, the youth and scouting departments arrived in Swaziland on 18 March to meet with the Swaziland football association among other activities lined up.

Head Coach Cavin Johnson and senior players will link up with the delegation on Friday in Nelspruit to spend time with the workers at the distribution centre.

Coming off the back of a disappointing 4-1 awaay loss to Free State Stars, Usuthu will be looking to come back in rejuvenated spirits after the tour ahead of their next Absa Premiership encounter against Chippa United on 06 April.

‘’Playing in Swaziland will be good, I’m really looking forward to the games and I believe that this trip will be a positive one for the team.’’

Sithebe also spoke about the how the trip to Ulundi last year where they played Mbabane Swallows also served as a taste to what Swaziland has to offer while also serving as a team spirit building exercise going into crucial league action.

Usuthu will take on Manzini Wanderers and Mbabane Swallows on 23 and 24 March at Mavuso Stadium.

‘’The trip last year was imperative as we were also able to keep the team spirit alive within the team and it also served as a team building exercise as we were able to bond more as a team.’’

The 26 year old Newcastle born man also elaborated on the importance of keeping fit during the international FIFA break week as it offers players with an opportunity to obtain some game time.

‘’Playing last year against the teams really helped as the coach was able to play everyone in the squad as it was FIFA week as well, we were able to regain focus and keep fit as well,‘’ he concluded.

    I think players need to be discipline or pay from their own salaries it they play poor like they did against Pirates, Marizburg utd and now Free state stars. We clap hands for lifting the team from relegation zone but what you are doing recently it’s unacceptable. We are 100%behind the team. Make us proud guys.
