AmaZulu coach Wilfred Mugeyi says his charges are prepared to fight to and go all the way in the Telkom Knockout Cup.
Usuthu will face Mamelodi Sundowns in a quarterfinal clash at Loftus Stadium on Saturday afternoon at 17h30.
Mugeyi’s men go into this game with some confidence having kept a clean sheet during Wednesday’s 0-0 away draw against Free State Stars but ‘Silver Fox’ is aware that they will need to lift their game against the Brazilians.
“This is a team that can score from any angle, we’ll give them the respect they deserve but at the end of the day it’s about AmaZulu and how we perform on the day,” he said.
“It’s going to be a tough game without a doubt but we’ll go out there to fight and achieve our objective, which is to go through to the next round.”
The former Ajax Cape Town assistant coach believes his side will prevail if they show the same fighting spirit they displayed during the 3-2 win over Bloemfontein Celtic in the previous round.
“We just have to show it on the day that we’re hungry to succeed and progress to the next round,” he added.
“If we have confidence, that gives us a chance to beat anyone – but we have to prove it, I can say we’re looking forward to the game.”Share
