AmaZulu can confirm that midfielders Tsweu Mokoro and Andile Khumalo missed Monday morning’s training after being involved in a car accident earlier in the morning.
The two were travelling along the Ladysmith area when Mokoro lost control of his black VW Polo Playa car. Mokoro had been at home for the weekend in Johannesburg while Khumalo had visited his hometown, Newcastle, after a weekend off training.
Upon his arrival in Escourt in the afternoon where the players are being treated, Team Manager James Dlamini confirmed that ‘Chippa’s car was written off.
According to him Mokoro escaped with minor body scratches and he will be released from the Escourt Provincial Hospital on 14 September, Tuesday morning.
His young teammate Andile Khumalo was second lucky, sustaining minor head injuries and would require attention on one eye.
The 19 year old talented new man is likely to be discharged before the end of the week.
Management would like to request the public to – pray with the families of the players in their time of need.Share
