AmaZulu return home to welcome Bidvest Wits to the King Zwelithini Stadium this Saturday.
It has been a challenging last two weeks for the club with disappointing defeats to Orlando Pirates and Maritzburg United in the KZN Derby.
With eight rounds left to play, Cavin Johnson’s men are eleventh on log and are still in with a realistic chance of finishing the season in the top half of the table.
Right now, however, Johnson says their main focus is to return to winning ways.
“I think for now, the emphasis is on the metal strength of the players on the pitch,” Johnson told the media on Wednesday.
“When you play against the big clubs, the players always put out more. We have to come to the party,” he added.
The Clever Boys are serious title contenders and are just two points off the leaders, Orlando Pirates.
They will arrive in KZN off the back of a 3-2 defeat to Cape Town City and will be desperate for all three points.
“They are going to come out here and they will throw everything at us,” Johnson said.
“The players are aware of what we need to do in this game. We need to be fighting to earn points. We will put out a strong team which will be both mentally and physically prepared to take the fights to Wits,” he concluded.
AmaZulu FC will take on Bidvest Wits at the King Zwelithini Stadium on 9 March. Kick-off is at 20:15. Tickets are available at TicketPro and Spar outlets.Share
