Many would assume that getting a big contract means everything to a player. But Mbongeni Gumede says it is actually all about playing regular football.
Gumede feels since joining NFD side AmaZulu from Orlando Pirates his value as a professional can only improve.
“I am excited to be here and more especially being given the opportunity to play and showcase my talent.
“Since arriving the environment has been good and I am enjoying the hard work and meeting the vision that the club wants,” said Gumede.
Having played for the South Africa Under 23 side as well, Gumede said he believes that getting more game time will give him a chance again in the national team.
“I am hoping that by doing well at AmaZulu I will be able to get a national call up to the Under 23 side and be part of the Olympics team. The guys that have been selected have been doing well and I am sure through hard work and game time I will be able to be in the team once again,” he said.
As AmaZulu prepare to play against Thanda Royal Zulu on Saturday at Richards Bay, Gumede will be one of the players expected to shine.Share
