AmaZulu will be heading into the Diski Challenge Rewired final with only one mandate, to be crowned champions.
The Usuthu reserve side are unbeaten in their stream and head into Sunday’s clash with the objective of keeping their perfect record intact when they take on Mamelodi Sundowns. Speaking to AmaZulu digital, AmaZulu Diski Challenge Rewired coach Sboniso Vilakazi said the players deserved their spot in the final for the hard work they’ve put in.
“Credit must go to the boys; their hard work has paid off and they deserve to be here. We are expecting a very tough encounter against Sundowns. We have applied ourselves tactically in the games that we have played like the semi-final game against Kaizer Chiefs,” said Vilakazi.
“We did not get here because we are lucky. When the tournament started, we set out a target for ourselves. We have demonstrated maturity and character by coming back against Chiefs in the semi-final, and now we want to make history at AmaZulu,” added the coach.
Team captain and left back Lankie Khoza also noted how this final is a dream come true for the players.
“For us, it’s a dream come true to play in the final of this tournament. The coach has done everything he could. He has inspired us to work hard from the first game and that is why we are ready to play and the make the club proud,” expressed Khoza.
The two sides will square-off in the Diski Rewired final at FNB Stadium, with the fixture set to start at 11am Central African Time.Share
