AmaZulu coach Delron Buckley is hoping to finish the season on a high as he readies his troops for their upcoming National First Division match against Black Leopards.
Usuthu are fresh from a 0-0 draw at home against African Warriors and have now set their sights on securing all three points against Lidoda Duvha next Saturday.
Speaking after the match at Princess Magogo Stadium on Sunday afternoon, the Bafana Bafana legend revealed that he believes they can do well in Thohoyandou.
“I think we have to do our homework now as we did against Warriors, we will have to look at what are their strong points and weaknesses,” said Buckley.
“We will ensure we prepare well from Tuesday in training until we play on Saturday, we will have to try and select the right players for this game and try a different style according to how Leopards play.”
When asked about his views on the lack of goals and failure to bag the full three points on home soil, Buckley challenged the players to step up and finish their chances.
“You know there’s a saying that you can take a horse to the river, but you can’t force it to drink,” adds the former VFL Bochum player.
“We are doing training sessions, drills and goal scoring training sessions to score goals, but at the end of the day its up to the players to finish up.
“Hopefully next season AmaZulu will find one or two good strikers and solve the goals problem…we now have four games left.
“We’ll try and focus on the games and try to finish on a good note. I’m sure the fans saw a good game and we had options, we played in the middle, left and right.
“It’s just that little touch when we get around the box, sometimes we play too many touches when a single touch can do it.”
The match against Leopards will be staged at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday, 30 April. Kick-Off is scheduled for 15h00.Share
