A bright and prosperous future is being paved at AmaZulu Football Club with the newly formed partnership between Usuthu and Bell Equipment who have come on board as U17 Team sponsor.
This past weekend, the AmaZulu Community Trust took the road less travelled in local football to excavate and mould talent in rural Maphumulo.
Over 80 boys and girls from 13 – 15 years old turned out alongside 25 local coaches from Maphumulo as AmaZulu Youth Technical Director and SAFA Instructor, Ronnie Moroka took them through their paces.
Former first team midfielder and current U13 Coach, Nhlanhla “Shakes” Zwane was also on hand accompanied by Youth Physio and Trainer, Sanele Dlamini as well as AmaZulu Community Trust Programs Manager, Mpho Dintwa.
“The aim is to keep the kids motivated and while equipping them with a basic foundation in their quest to play football in the long run.”
“With some kids it is merely for fun but in a rural or remote area with this partnership with Bell Equipment we intend to interact with kids and coaches at grassroots and just bring the fun that may probably under normal circumstances be hard to come by,” said Moroka.
Moroka also added that the rapport established and facilitated by iLembe District President, Meliziwe Mhlongo and Coach Vusi “Deshi” Nsele has yielded positive outcomes in the past as a scouting base for Usuthu.
The Bell Equipment Coaching Clinics will be venturing outside KZN next with Gauteng among the provinces earmarked in the coming days.
