AmaZulu head coach Steve Barker believes that preparations for the National First Division are going very well.
Despite the postponement of the KZN Premiers Cup that Usuthu were scheduled to play, Barker said he is a bit disappointed but looks forward to a friendly against Golden Arrows.
“We were obviously looking forward to the proposed tournament which was to be this weekend, we still are. It’s good preparation but since it was postponed we’ve scheduled a friendly match with Golden Arrows so we’re looking forward to that,” said Barker.
Although the squad has not been finalized, Barker said there are a few additions that they are still assessing and hope will come through for the team.
“We’re slowly building the squad to what we want it to be. There are a couple of new additions to the team whom we’re still checking and so far they’re coming alright.
“At this stage we’re just working on the conditioning of the players, then the focus this weekend will be in the friendly which will then give us a clear indication of where we are. We do still have about three to six weeks before we play,” he said.Share
