AmaZulu coach Steve Barker says the match against his former team, the University of Pretoria is nothing but a chance to claim the three points.
Usuthu are set to host Tuks at home and Barker said he knows his former side well and it’s not going to be easy for them to get the points.
The match will be the coach’s first assignment after joining the club last week, and he said he aims to start off with a victory.
“Look, I’m aware of their abilities and it’s not going to be easy for us as a team but we’ll fight for the three points,” said Barker.
“We all have the responsibility to lift the club from the relegation zone and there’s nothing better than collecting three points against Tuks.
“We have six injuries and that gives you a thin squad but all the players know that they must pull on the jersey and fight.”
The former Wits University player said he’s happy with the commitment shown by players in the past few days.
“I’m happy with the commitment from my players and their response has been positive,” added Barker.
“They have displayed the commitment to win and are hungry to bounce back – we hope to win against Tuks and obviously follow up on Saturday (versus Mpumalanga Black Aces).
“This week sees four days that are very crucial for us as a club in terms of climbing up the log,”
The match gets underway at 19:30 on Tuesday at the Princess Magogo Stadium.
