AmaZulu team physio Divan Augustyn brings us to speed with the latest developments in Usuthu’s fitness department.
The hard-working medic updates us ahead of usuthu facing a determined yet 15th placed Black Leopards this Sunday (20th November) at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
“Deco is back from the injury list and looking good, at the moment it is just Sbu Hadebe. He’s still out for another two weeks. We’re fortunate we don’t have too many injuries,” said Augustyn.
With the focus being on international friendly matches this past week the technical team has not let the boys in green and white rest on their laurels. A tight training programme was kept so as not to build on the level of fitness.
“We were doing functional strengthening exercises, it was a power session we had with the team. So we aimed at improving their core strength and their rotational power so that the players are stronger on the ball when they play.
I think the players enjoyed it. Though some of the stuff that we did is a programme which we have been following since the beginning of pre-season, there was only two new aspects which is the vitor and the kettle bells which they didn’t do beforeShare
