Ace Mnikathi Branch launched on Heritage Day


AmaZulu FC’s National Supporters’ Committee fulfilled one of their objectives by launching the Ace Mnikathi Supporters Branch in honour of the AmaZulu legend.

Outlined as one of the main objectives of the season, for the club’s support structure, the branch will be based in Hammarsdale and serve as an intermediary between club management and it’s fans in the western region of Durban.

The morning’s proceedings started by the election of the branch’s leadership which saw long-standing chairperson, Mike Nxasana hand over the reigns to Japhta Malinga and his new structure.

The club’s senior management were part of the meeting, which was later followed by a visit to the home of Bonginkosi Ace Mnikathi.

The family expressed their delight in the gesture displayed by the Hammersdale based supporters and management as Mnikathi wages a strong fight for his health.

Ace played alongside Zulu Royal’s title winning 70’s team which also featured late greats Cedric “Sugar Ray” Xulu and Chippa Khoza, amongst many other legends.

The Ace Mnikathi Supporters Branch will be structured as follows:

Chairperson – Japhta Malinga
Deputy Chairperson – Muzi Mthembu
Secretary – Musa Kweyama
Deputy Secretary – Vusi Ntshapa
Treasury – Thuba Mngadi
Organizer – Zane Mkhize

Mike Nxasana, Jabulani Mpulo and Zithulele Buthelezi have also been roped in to serve as additional members.
