Zimbabwean midfielder Ramson Zhuwawo is confident they can beat Bafana Bafana in their friendly at the Rufaro Stadium on Tuesday night.
“We have enough to win with the support of our fans behind us. We have played against many of these players before and we know them well. We will beat them,” hetells KIckoff.com from his side’s training base in Harare.
The AmaZulu man adds that, like Bafana Bafana, the Warriors too are in a rebuilding phase after failing to reach the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
“I believe this game is a new start for the Warriors.”
Despite many regular Bafana stars released by coach Pitso Mosimane from the squad, Zhuwawo feels the South Africans cannot be taken for granted.
“With most of the regulars not in the team, it will give other players a chance to stake their claim at international level.”
Following the Warriors missing out on Afcon 2012, the Zimbabwe Football Association has made a decision to stick with coach Norman Mapeza and Zhuwawo says he is happy with the governing body’s choice.
“I’m very happy with the coach. He has done well and is progressing well. We need to be consistent; we have a good team and we will progress under him.”
