Amid the AFCON buzz in Durban this week, experienced midfielder Stanley Kgatla says it is important for Usuthu to remain off the radar and go about preparing for the league resumption.
The 30 year old is impressed with the way in which his teammates have responded to coach Craig Rosslee’s training since they began three weeks ago.
“I think the coach has seen what he wants to see because we’ve been working hard and a lot with the ball always being involved.
“What we’ve been lacking last season is goals and we’ve been practising our finishing.
“Obviously the coach is the one in charge but I think for us to get away from that position he’s had to get us to rectify those kind of things,” said Kgatla.
This past weekend AmaZulu took on local amateur sides KwaNdengezi Brazil, Umlazi Academy and feeder team, Durban Warriors. This week they play stronger teams, which the Tzaneen born man tips to be a good motivator for the players.
“The coach has been trying different things and combinations. I think he has given everyone ample opportunity to showcase what they can do,” he added.
