AmaZulu Head Coach, Jozef Vukušič, says they’re well aware of what’s expected of them in order to cause an upset against Mamelodi Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout Cup this weekend.
The two teams will battle it out in Pretoria, for a spot in the next round of the competition this Sunday.
Vukušič, who took over the reigns at Usuthu earlier this year, says they’ve paid careful attention to the threat Masandawana pose going forward and they’ll look to nullify the number of chances the home team create on the day.
“We’ve done our analysis of them and we know their strengths and weaknesses, so we will look to capitalize on that in order to beat them. We need everyone to be at their best, with strong individual performances and an even bigger team performance to get a good result in this cup,” he said.
AmaZulu will look to continue their impressive form against The Brazilians, having drawn one and won the other in their last two encounters. Vukušič says the team has been hard at work over the past two weeks.
“With the international break, we’ve had a longer time to work together as a squad for this game.
It’s a good test for us and if we play to our full potential, there’s no reason why we can’t go through to the next round,” he added.
Meanwhile, Usuthu striker, Bongi Ntuli has promised fans a thrilling encounter on the day.
“We expect a really tough game and as much as they are the obvious favourites, anything
can happen in football, especially cup football. Our fans can rest assured that we will give it our allto make it an exciting game,” said Ntuli.
Kick-off is at 3pm on Sunday (20th October)at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria.Share
