AmaZulu head coach Jozef Vukusic has heaped up praise on his Usuthu charges after they registered their second Absa Premiership victory in the 2019/20 season at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Bongi Ntuli’s spot kick conversion was enough to send the KZN outfit back home smiling much to the delight of the Serbian coach.
However Vukusic applauded his side for the manner in which they were able to absorb the pressure from the home team throughout the proceedings.
‘’First of all the result is important, it was very important that we did not concede any goals, so I am happy about that.’’
‘’Compliment to the guys for the character they showed coming from a 5-0 loss, we deserved the win, ‘’ he said.
The former Polokwane City mentor also challenged his side to maintain their current approach in dealing with their next opponents if they’re to stabilize their position on the log standings.
‘’We must collect the points, I’m a new coach so the players are still adjusting and learning. We have space to improve and to keep working hard, and we must keep the consistency. ’’
‘’We need to stabilize the team and keep the momentum going into the next home game against Stellenbosch, we will keep playing until we find the right combination,’’ he concluded.
Usuthu’s next encounter will be against Stellenbosch FC on 06 November at the Princess Magogo Stadium.Share
