Usuthu have been quietly re-sharpening their weapons since they locked horns in the Durban Derby stalemate with Golden Arrows.
Now yet another tough Absa Premiership battle await in Supersport United at the King Zwelithini stadium on 24 April 2019.
Usuthu experienced left-back Marc van Heerden believes they must up the ante on their next assignment and build on the performance against their KZN rivals.
‘’With regards to the team, we put in a good shift, we put up a good fight. We could’ve done a little bit more, but such is life, we’ll do with a point, ‘’ he said.
‘’This weekend gives us some time to prepare, it helps one or two guys who are struggling with some knocks to come back and get our mentality back to winning ways.’’
The 31-year-old defender rates Matsatsantsa to be a quality side but believes that Usuthu also have the quality in the squad to match up to them.
‘’Supersport are a good team, well-structured they have got some good players who are in the national team, but we are also a good team as well.’’
‘’At the moment it’s all about picking up as many points as possible. If we’re being honest with ourselves, we’re not out of trouble yet, so we still need to pick up two wins or so to be safe,’’ he concluded.
Usuthu lost 1-0 against United in the first round to an own goal.
