AmaZulu FC central defender Sedat Ouro-Akoriko was in action for his nation, Togo against Iran on Thursday.
The international friendly match took place at the iconic Azadi Stadium in Tehran, the capital city of Iran.
Ouro-Akoriko started for the Sparrow Hawks as made his return to the national team – having missed the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Algeria last June.
Togo are not taking part in the third round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification (CAF) as they were knocked out in the second round two years ago.
The score was 0-0 between Iran and Togo during the half-time break after Ouro-Akoriko, 29, and his team-mates had contained the hosts in the first-half.
However, two second-half goals by Karim Ansarifard earned Iran’s Team Melli a 2-0 victory over the West African side.
Usuthu defender Ouro-Akoriko, who represented Togo at the 2017 (AFCON) finals in Gabon, was substituted with 12 minutes left on the clock.
Togo will host Benin in the 2019 AFCON qualifier match in March 2018.Share
