AmaZulu’s teenage forward Menzi Ndwandwe made his official debut for South Africa under-20 side, Amajita, in Namibia over weekend.
Amajita were held to a goalless stalemate by Namibia’s Young Brave Warriors in the 2017 Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.
The first-leg encounter was played at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Namibia’s capital city, Windhoek, on Saturday afternoon.
Ndwandwe was introduced 18 minutes into the second-half – replacing Keletso Makgalwa of Mamelodi Sundowns as Thabo Senong’s side searched for a crucial away goal.
However, the Young Brave Warriors managed to contain Amajita until the match referee blew the final whistle on the day and the match ended in a goalless draw.
The second-leg encounter is scheduled to be played on the 11th of June 2016 at a venue still to be decided in South Africa.
