AmaZulu FC Reserves will head to Ulundi for the Diski Challenge festival to face Maritzburg United with two of the talented four players from the Northern KZN Singabakho Ngema, and Ntuthuko Madela relishing the chance to impress.

Captain Sandile Khumalo and midfielder Sfundo Nkosi will also be among the Usuthu camp garnering for three points to their 19 points collected so far with two matches to go.

Defensive midfielder, Singabakho Ngema who was scouted last season during the Prince Mangosuthu Legacy cup invitational friendly against Bloemfontein Celtic says he’s ready to thrill in the KZN derby.

“I’m very happy that I’ll be playing where I grew up and I would like to thank the PSL for bringing games to Ulundi, this will encourage my peers back home to work hard,” said Ngema.

Although industrious left-back, Ntuthuko Madela won’t be playing due to injury, he is equally pleased at the prospect that residents will be treated two days of entertaining MDC football.

“I am ecstatic at the fact that people in my hometown will be able to watch my peers play, especially our parents who never really get the chance to watch us play live at the stadium,” Madela said.

When speaking about his experience playing in the MDC this season, Ngema mentions that it has been a challenging one but he has also learnt a lot as well.

“At first playing was a challenge for me but I have learnt a lot such as time management and how a player should conduct themselves, so I have grown immensely,” Ngema concludes.

Both players anticipate the Durban Derby to be a close game, Singabakho says, “It will be a tight match as we want to finish the season in the top five this will be an important match for us.”

Madela echoed Ngema’s sentiments by saying that the match will a tough one for the team. Last season both sides played out to a draw while in the Diski Shield Usuthu emerged victorious.
