Usuthu target win against Orlando Pirates

AmaZulu will face off with Orlando Pirates in an Absa Premiership match at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 20h15.

Usuthu’s league match against Bloemfontein Celtic was called off by the referee due to dangerous pitch conditions on Wednesday.

As a result, AmaZulu are placed 12th on the league standings with 14 points from 11 matches. They are three points behind fifth-placed Lamontville Golden Arrows.

Mhlengi Cele is having a good season with having netted three league goals for Usuthu. The forward will be keen to inspire AmaZulu to victory on Saturday.

The KwaZulu-Natal giants will move back into the top eight on the league standings if they secure a victory over the Buccaneers.

Meanwhile, Pirates drew 0-0 with SuperSport United at home in their previous league game which was played on Tuesday.

The Buccaneers are placed fourth on the league standings with 19 points from 13 matches. They are only behind log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns on goal-difference.

A victory for Pirates over AmaZulu will see the Soweto giants move to the top of the league standings.

The last meeting between AmaZulu and Pirates in a league game was on 11 February 2015 during the 2014/15 season.

The Buccaneers secured a 2-1 victory over Usuthu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. Mbulelo Mabizela netted for Usuthu.
