Usuthu take aim at Sundowns

AmaZulu FC will travel to the Loftus Versfeld Stadium where they will take on Mamelodi Sundowns in an Absa Premiership match on Tuesday.

Kick-off is at 19h30 CAT.

Usuthu saw their three-game winning streak in the league brought to a sudden end in their last encounter.

The KwaZulu-Natal giants suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to Chippa United on November 9.

AmaZulu have claimed just four points from five away matches so far during the current 2019/20 season.

Meanwhile, Sundowns, who are the defending league champions, have gone three league matches without a win.

Masandawana suffered their second loss of the season when they went down 3-2 at Golden Arrows on November 10.

Sundowns have claimed 10 points from five home matches this season, though their last game as hosts ended in a 2-0 defeat at the hands of log leaders Kaizer Chiefs.

In head-to-head stats, Sundowns and AmaZulu have met in 57 league matches since 1985.

The Brazilians have claimed 36 wins compared to eight for Usuthu, while 13 matches have been drawn.

The Tshwane side has won 16 of their 28 home matches in the rivalry, suffering six defeats in the process.

AmaZulu took four points off Sundowns last season, with the teams drawing 3-3 at King Zwelithini Stadium in September 2018.

While the return game at Loftus Versfeld in January 2019 brought a 2-0 win for AmaZulu.
