A school called Sekelani Primary in Umlazi is among the latest school AmaZulu talent polishers Ronnie Moroka and Joel Faya visited recently on a long list of coaching clinics to teach the youngsters the basics of football.
The duo’s mission of bringing coaching clinics to young school kids is seen by School’s Programme & Development Coordinator Ronnie Moroka as the better way to champion the ploughing of talent across different corners of KZN.
“We try to equip or expose them to the highest level of coaching. Especially from the viewpoint of someone who has been a professional player in his time and who is a coach now, Joel and obviously myself as development coach we’re exposing these kids to that knowledge,” said Moroka.
Last week the coaches took to their football gospel to Phakathi Primary School outside of Pine Town and will continue with the programme to visit other schools in the next few weeks.
AmaZulu and most youth coaches’ richest hunting grounds are at schools, which is why the reason behind hosting such clinics according to the former Jomo Cosmos youth coach.
“It is not only to spot talent but to create brand awareness to the kids, we want them to grow up loving AmaZulu because the team comes to them,” he added.
