Ayanda Dlamini, head coach of AmaZulu Reserves took his hat off to his charges following their courageous display despite playing in inclement weather & pitch conditions at Umlazi’s King Zwelithini stadium on Saturday morning.
The travellers, Chippa United themselves proved a stubborn opponent on the day according to Dlamini which saw shot after shot on goal from the likes attackers, Somila Ntsundwana, Thami Nombika, Sanele Gaxa and Thokozani Ngubane fail to break down Chippa.
“We attacked with pace, but we just couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net, we created enough chances,” said the man from KwaCeza when alluding to the number of chances they had at goal.
“In the first half, because of the weather conditions, we didn’t play that well, but in the second half we were all over them.”
“I think the boys gave their all today but unfortunately it just couldn’t happen,” said Dlamini.
