While the rest of Craig Rosslee’s squad is focused on their preparations for their next league encounter against Moroka Swallows on September 14, four players have jetted off to represent their country ahead of this weekend’s 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Defenders Willem Mwedihanga and Larry Horaeb, as well as attackers Pineas Jacob and Sadney Urikhob have all been called up to represent Namibia when they take on Kenya in Nairobi on Sunday, September 8.
Mwedihanga has already racked up three appearances for Usuthu this season, Horaeb and Urikhob have made one appearance each, while Jacob is still looking to make his official debut for the club.
The Brave Warriors are currently in third place in Group F with five points but can finish as high as second place should they beat Kenya, while Malawi go down to group leaders Nigeria.
The Super Eagles and the Flames will meet in a crucial encounter in Calabar on Saturday with the winner guaranteed to finish on top of the group.Share
