Usuthu out to dim Stars

AmaZulu will look to extend their positive streak in the Absa Premiership when they visit Free State Stars at Goble Park on Saturday, 27 April 2013.

Craig Rosslee’s men put the loss to University of Pretoria behind them by collecting four points out of a possible six in their last two matches.

Usuthu defeated Bloemfontein Celtic 1-0 in their midweek fixture before playing to a 0-0 draw against Mamelodi Sundowns over the weekend.

These results have brought the confidence up ahead of the trip to Bethlehem where the side will look to improve on their away record which currently consists of two wins, five draws and six defeats.

AmaZulu are placed 12th on the Absa Premiership log with 29 points from 26 matches.

Stars on the other hand have gone seven league games without a victory and drew 1-1 away to University of Pretoria in their last league encounter.

The Free State side has recorded five wins, six draws and just two defeats from 13 home matches this season.

Ea Lla Koto are placed seventh on the Absa Premiership log with 34 points from 26 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Stars and AmaZulu have met in 42 league matches since 1986.

The Free State side has claimed 18 wins compared to 14 for the Durban team, while 10 matches have been drawn.

Stars have a good home record against AmaZulu, with 12 wins and just six defeats from 21 matches.

When the teams met earlier this season in Durban, Ea Lla Koto claimed a 1-0 away win thanks to a late goal from Anver Esterhuizen.
