AmaZulu will welcome Cape Town All Stars in an National First Division (NFD) match at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban on Sunday.
Kick-off is at 15h00.
Usuthu are coming off a 3-1 win over Royal Eagles in their previous league match in midweek. Roggert Nyundu, Ovidy Karuru and Augustine Ramphele netted in Pietermaritzburg.
This was Durban side’s third consecutive victory in the league. The last time Usuthu tasted defeat in the league was a month ago.
AmaZulu are currently placed third on the league standings with 38 points from 24 matches. They are only two points second-placed Black Leopards.
Nyundu has settled well into the Usuthu camp. The forward, who has two goals since arriving a few months ago, will look to score again and help Usuthu win at home.
A victory for Joey Antipas’ side will see them remain in the top three on the league standings and keep their Absa Premiership promotion hopes alive.
Meanwhile, All Stars are coming off a goalless stalemate with Real Kings in their previous league match which was played in Durban.
As a result Igugu Lekapa are now winless in five league games. Since beating Witbank Spurs, two months ago, they have recorded four draws and one defeat.
All Stars are placed 12th on the league standings with 26 points from 23 matches. They are four points behind 15th-placed Magesi FC.
Lesvin Stoffels is one of Igugu Lekapa’s key players in attack. The midfielder, who has four league goals, will be hoping to inspire his side to victory over Usuthu.
The Cape Town side, who are under the guidance of Patrick Mabedi, will be desperate for a victory in order to move further away from the relegation zone.
When AmaZulu and All Stars met in the first-round league game last September, the former won 1-0 with Siyabonga Nomvethe scoring at the Parow Park Stadium.Share
