AmaZulu Reserves have their sights set on ascending further up the Multichoice Diski Challenge log after claiming 5th position in their 3-0 away win against Cape Town City.
According to midfielder, Sbongakonke “Scara” Ndlovu against a tough Kaizer Chiefs away this Saturday (12pm) at Dobsonville Stadium, Usuthu are well equipped to continue to impress.
Usuthu go into the match unbeaten in four games this season and have collected 33 points in the process.
Ndlovu said: ‘’ We are fully aware that the game against Kaizer Chiefs won’t be an easy one, but I’m pretty sure that the guys will do their best to be on their A-game in order for us to come out victorious.’’
‘’The last time we played with them, we played to a 2-2 draw where we could have done better in my opinion, but nonetheless we’re ready for them,’’ he added.
A positive showing could coach Ayanda Dlamini’s men possibly leaving a gap with their opponents in and around 8th position, which could further motivate Ndlovu and his teammates in the competition.
‘’We are definitely looking for a top three finish which would see us participating in the MultiChoice Diski Shield because we also have our eyes set on that.’’
The 19-year-old also believes in playing to their strengths in every match, despite noting how formidable an opponent the young Amakhosi have proven to be in past meetings against them.
‘’There have been a lot of changes that have been made in several positions for strong playing options, including the new playing partnership that I have with Sifundo Nkosi. I believe I have contributed positively to the way we play, even at training, so we’re all set to go.’’
‘’Credit should also go to my coach Ayanda Dlamini and my teammates as well, we have a formidable team right now and we can only grow to greater heights. Against Chiefs we expect a top match because we know they’re also dangerous, ‘’ he concluded.Share
