AmaZulu FC will travel to the Peter Mokaba Stadium where they are scheduled to face Baroka FC in an Absa Premiership match on Sunday.
Kick-off is at 15h30.
Usuthu suffered a 2-0 defeat to Chippa United in their previous league game which was played at the King Zwelithini Stadium last weekend.
The defeat extended AmaZulu’s winless run to six matches in the league having recorded four draws and two defeats – since defeating Mamelodi Sundowns away last October.
As a result, AmaZulu are now placed 13th on the league standings with 15 points from 14 games. They are three points behind 10th-placed Lamontville Golden Arrows.
A victory for Usuthu against Baroka, will see Cavin Johnson’s side move closer to the top eight. AmaZulu have two games in hand.
Johnson is likely to look to Mhlengi Cele, who has scored three league goals this season. The striker will look to add to his tally and help Usuthu end their winless run.
Meanwhile, Baroka succumbed to a 3-1 defeat to Orlando Pirates in their previous league game which was played at the Orlando Stadium last weekend.
This was Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele’s third defeat in their last five league matches. They had defeated SuperSport United at home, before facing Pirates.
Baroka are placed eighth on the league standings with 22 points from 16 matches. They are three points behind third-placed Free State Stars.
Mduduzi Mdantsane, who scored against Pirates, is a key midfielder for Kgoloko Thobejane’s side. He will look to inspire Baroka to victory against AmaZulu.
The last time AmaZulu and Baroka clashed in a league game was on the 1st of November 2017 during the first round of the current campaign.
The two sides drew 1-1 with Rhulani Manzini scoring for Usuthu, while Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele’s goal was scored by Gift Motupa at the King Zwelithini Stadium.Share
