AmaZulu begin their third annual Metropolitan U19 Bayhill Premier Cup tournament on Thursday against Cape United at Erica Park, Cape Town at 12:30pm.

Last year the AmaZulu U19 boys successfully went past the group stages, but were unfortunately eliminated by SuperSport United in the last 16 playoffs by a 1-0 score line.

Head Coach Thabiso Makhetha says the mood is high in the camp ahead of their opening match against their Cape based opponents.

“The boys are looking sharp and good. Arriving two days early helped us a bit even though time to prepare was quite limited, but we were able to try out different combinations in our approach.”

“We were also able to watch Cape United play their first game on Thursday together as a team. So we’re confident we will get three points against Cape United,” said Makhetha.

Cape United lost 1-0 in Group C’s opening match against Greenwood Atletic.

Usuthu will face SupersSort United on Friday, 25 March 2016 at 15:00pm. Their final group match will see the lads take on Greenwood Atletic on Saturday, 26 March at 09:00am.
