AmaZulu FC defenders Marc Van Heerden and Sadate Ouro-Akoriko have resumed full training ahead of the encounter with Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday.
The Absa Premiership encounter will take place at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban.
Usuthu’s team physio Karel Du Toit has provided an injury update as the KwaZulu-Natal giants look secure a victory over the Brazilians.
“Sadate is returning from an ankle sprain. He is just struggling with a little bit of a bone contusion,” Du Toit said.
“But he is returning to full training. He has mild symptoms, but we will see how he progresses this week regarding availability.
“Marc Van Heerden has recovered well from a grade one calf strain. He is also in full training,” he said.
“We will also evaluate him through the week of training and see if he can pass a late fitness test. But he looks good.
Zimbabwean winger Ovidy Karuru, who is yet to feature for Usuthu this season, has also resumed full training.
“Ovidy Karuru is still returning from quite a significant ankle injury. He is in full training,” he continued.
“We just need to get him 100% comfortable at competition level.
Usuthu midfielder Sphesihle Maduna and defender Boiki Modisakeng have returned from minor injuries.
“Then there is Sphesihle Maduna and Boiki, who are returning from minor knee sprains,” he added.
“They are also progressing into full training this week,” Du Toit concluded.
The game between AmaZulu and Sundowns will kick-off at 15h00.Share
