Golden Arrows walked away with the bragging rights to the KZN derby with a victory over an unlucky AmaZulu this afternoon.
Arrows broke the deadlock with just nine minutes on the clock when Siyabonga Nkosi carved out a chance for Mbesuma, who latched onto the cross from the right to steer it beyond the Usuthu goalkeeper.
There were no further goals in the first half, but just nine minutes into the second period, the visiting side found a second.
Once again Nkosi was the supplier and again Mbesuma fired the ball into the back of the net.
Manqoba Mngqithi, who came up against his former employers, then saw his charges cut the deficit in the 59th minute.
Lehlohonolo Majoro provided the crucial cross and Shipahu did the rest from close range.
But there was no way back for AmaZulu and Arrows walked away with all three points.
