A voice of unity and support for AmaZulu and the chairman among fans was the melody of the day at Embelebeni Royal Household on Sunday during a supporters meeting with club legends also in attendance.
In addressing the gathering Head Coach, Joey Antipas thanked the supporters and the club’s initiative to introduce his newly assembled side to the club’s ancestral base ahead of the new season.
“As far as I’m concerned AmaZulu is one of the biggest clubs in South Africa. What I can promise you is a very good side, a very much disciplined side and a side that will be together,” said Antipas.
“I believe that if we are all pulling in one direction then we can be successful. What I’d like to say is that you are the 12th man, and the 12th man plays a big role.”
AmaZulu Supporters Coordinator and Head of Safety, Qedi Dlamini conducted proceedings and handed over to Eric ‘Nduna’ Ngidi to introduce fellow club legends to the AmaZulu squad and supporters.
The players got to mix it up with Usuthu greats such as Cedric ‘Sugar Ray’ Xulu, Fred Mfeka, Pat ‘Man Line’ Hlongwa, Joe Ngiba, Zeph ‘Staf Rider’ Nxumalo and Sam Mbatha.
On behalf of the squad Siyabonga Nomvethe and Tapelo Nyongo stood up to accept the challenge bestowed upon them and their teammates to steer the Usuthu ship to success in the 2016/17 National First Division campaign.Share
