AmaZulu will face their KwaZulu-Natal rivals Royal Eagles in an National First Division (NFD) match at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg on Wednesday.
Kick-off is at 15h00.
Usuthu are coming off a 3-0 home win over Magesi FC in their previous league match over the weekend. Tapelo Nyongo, Lungelo Dlamini and Mabhuti Khenyeza all scored.
This was AmaZulu’s second consecutive league victory. They have lost once in their last six league matches – recording one defeat, two draws and three wins.
AmaZulu are placed sixth on the league log standings with 35 points from 23 matches. They are only two points behind third-placed Stellenbosch.
Khenyeza has rediscovered his scoring boots for Joey Antipas’ side. The veteran striker will be hoping to fire Usuthu into the top three with a win over Eagles.
Meanwhile, Eagles are also coming off a 1-0 away win against University of Pretoria in their previous league game over the weekend – with Sedywn George scoring.
As a result Eagles returned to winning ways in the league. Prior to facing AmaTuks, they had drawn with FC Cape Town and lost to Magesi.
Eagles are placed fourth on the league log standings with 36 points from 24 matches. They are three points behind second-placed Black Leopards.
George remains the dangerman for Kostadin Papic’s side. The forward, who has 20 league goals this season, will be looking to help his side overcome Usuthu.
When AmaZulu and Eagles met in the first-round league match, the former emerged 3-2 winners in Durban last December.
Boysen Mbatha, Vukile Mngqibisa and Lungelo Dlamini netted for Usuthu, while Raymond Monama grabbed a brace for Eagles.Share
