Usuthu have suffered four defeats from as many away matches this season, with their last outing on the road ending in a 3-0 loss at Cape Town City.
Cavin Johnson, the AmaZulu head coach, will look to Argentine striker Emiliano Tade, who has the ability to inspire the team to victory against Highlands.
Meanwhile, Highlands played to a sixth draw from 10 league matches when they held Maritzburg United 2-2 away on November 9.
The Tembisa-based side twice came from behind to secure a valuable point.
The Lions of the North are unbeaten at home this season, with two wins and two draws from four matches as hosts.
Their last home game brought a 2-1 win over Chippa United in early October.
Highlands head coach Owen Da Gama, will look to Mothobi Mvala, who is an influential midfielder for the Gauteng side.
