Usuthu eye Nedbank Cup Last 16 spot

AmaZulu FC will be away to Bloemfontein Celtic in the 2019/2020 Nedbank Cup Last 32 match at the Dr Molemela Stadium on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 15h00 CAT.

Usuthu are coming into this encounter having secured a 1-0 victory over Polokwane City at home in an Absa Premiership match last weekend.

The KwaZulu-Natal giants are hoping to go all the way and clinch their maiden Nedbank Cup trophy having finished as runners-up in 2010.

AmaZulu will look to Bonginkosi Ntuli with the lethal marksman having hit the back of the net 11 times in the Absa Premiership this season

Meanwhile, Celtic were held to a 1-1 stalemate by Chippa United at home in an Absa Premiership match last month.

Phunya Sele Sele have enjoyed some success in this cup competition having won it in 1985 when it was still known as the Mainstay Cup.

Their key player is attacking midfielder Siphesihle Luthuli, who is Celtic’s leading goalscorer in the league this season with six goals.

In Head-to-Head stats, AmaZulu and Celtic have clashed two times in cup competitions since 2007.

Both teams have registered one win each and the two matches were Telkom Knockout Cup games.

AmaZulu emerged 3-2 winners over Celtic in the last cup meeting between the two teams in October 2014.
