AmaZulu will host Bidvest Wits in what will be new coach Craig Rosslee’s second match in charge. The Absa Premiership clash is set for Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday at 15h30.
AmaZulu have now gone four matches since their last victory, but their 1-1 draw away to Black Leopards in midweek was a satisfactory result given Leopards’ strength at home.
The Durban side’s two wins this season have both come at home, though they have also suffered three defeats in their backyard.
Usuthu are placed 16th on the Absa Premiership log with 10 points from 13 matches.
An interesting aside will be that former AmaZulu defender S’boniso Gumede is now a fixture in the Bidvest Wits side and could well play against his former teammates.
Wits have gone four matches since their last victory and played to a goalless draw at home to University of Pretoria in midweek.
The Johannesburg side has won once away from home so far this season and have lost three times on the road.
The Clever Boys are placed seventh on the Absa Premiership log with 17 points from 13 matches.
In head-to-head stats, AmaZulu and Wits have met in 47 league matches since 1985.
The Clever Boys have claimed 17 wins compared to 12 for Usuthu, while no less than 18 matches have ended in draws.
Last season Wits won 3-1 in Johannesburg, while Usuthu replied with a 2-0 win in the return match in Durban.
