Usuthu endorse Pizza Hut literacy charity campaign

Pizza Hut’s literacy drive which is dubbed the “Red Reading Box”, gathered Durban’s sporting heroes and entertainers on 25 April to promote reading at primary schools.

Usuthu were represented by first team players, Augustine Ramphele, Somila Ntsundwana, Sphesihle Maduna, and Sduduzo Dlamini who motivated scholars from various schools.

AmaZulu FC Talent Scout, Ayanda Mkhize also attended the function.

Usuthu speedy winger, Augustine Ramphele and his teammates told the scholars to give their best in their studies.

He added: “Most of all they must also not to let go of their dreams of making it big in sports, if ever they are interested in sports but most of all they must respect their elders because that is where we get our blessings,” said Ramphele.

Actors Madhussan Singh, Nokuthula Mabika and Kajal Bagwandeen, Gqom’ super group, Distruction Boys are some of the guests that were on site alongside neighbouring cricket team, Hollywoodbets Dolphins.

According to the organisers, Metropolis Brands, customers can contribute R2 of their normal bill at Pizza Hut towards the “Red Reading Boxes”. Each box is filled with books, board games, puzzles etc.

The initiative stretches to other parts of the African content.
