AmaZulu first team left-back, Sbusiso Mabiliso (19) and Reserves striker, Bayanda Shangase (19) have been announced in the SA Under-20 final squad by coach Thabo Senong set to travel to Niger ahead of the CAF 2019 AFCON scheduled for 02-17 February.
The squad was announced on 23 January prior before their final friendly match in South Africa against SAFA Gauteng ABC Motsepe League side, Dube Continental FC which was held at the Nike Football Training Centre in Soweto.
AmaZulu Head Coach Cavin Johnson said of today’s developments: “It’s a good experience for the players to go out and play in Africa against different conditions.”
“It will be a good opportunity for Mabiliso and Bayanda who gets involved for the first time at the national team. As a club this is the kind of opportunities, we want the youngsters to work towards.”
“All the best to coach Thabo Senong, Helman Mkhalele and the boys. They have a chance to make South Africa proud, ” said Johnson.
Mabiliso was part of the squad that won the Cosafa Under-20 championship last year.
Amajita are in Group A alongside hosts Niger, Burundi and Nigeria in this year’s 42 team biennial junior continental tournament.
