AmaZulu FC midfielder Ovidy Karuru was in action in the Four-Nation Tournament in Zambia on Wednesday.
Karuru’s Usuthu team-mate, Butholezwe Ncube was named amongst Zimbabwe substitutes ahead of the Warriors’ clash with hosts, Zambia.
The second semi-final match was played at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Marvelous Nakamba captained the Warriors, while Karuru and George Chigova were his assistants.
The enthralling match ended in a 2-2 stalemate and Zambia’s Chipolopolo went on to win 5-4 on penalties with Karuru having played the entire game.
Zambia will now take on South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in the final at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Saturday.
Bafana booked their place in the final after defeating Angola in the first semi-final match on the same day.
Karuru and Ncube’s Zimbabwe will now face Angola in the third-place play-off encounter at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Saturday.Share
