AmaZulu’s next Absa Premiership fixture will see them travel to Polokwane where they’ll meet Baroka FC on 27 October 2019.
Usuthu’s in form striker, Bonginkosi Ntuli and experienced midfielder, Nhlanhla Vilakazi are banking on their 2-1 confidence boosting win against Cape Town City, as they prepare to double their commitment at training under coach Josef Vukusic during the three-week break from league action.
The 28-year Cato Ridge born striker said: ‘’We are very happy that we won on Tuesday, we had all agreed that we needed to work hard and to go into the break on a positive note.’’
‘’Personally, I always strive to score as many goals as possible, in the process. I would like to see myself on the top goal scorer list,” said Ntuli.
Vilakazi was equally pleased to see Usuthu registering their first win of the 2019/2020 campaign, adding that the coach had advised them to regard all upcoming matches as of high importance.
‘’It was very important that we won our first game this week, we really needed it, to boost our confidence for the next game on 27thOctober.’’
‘’The coach reminded us of the importance of the game, he emphasized that we should give the match and the opponents the respect that they deserved but we should also throw everything we have at them and I believe that’s what we did,’’ he added.
The 32-year-old Usuthu vice-captain is also coy on seeing the upcoming lengthy break and believes it will afford Jozef Vukusic the chance to indoctrinate his charges with his playing philosophy, while affording them the chance to bond with the squad.
‘’I believe that this break will afford us the chance to be able to be properly assessed by the coach because he came in the midst of very tough matches, so he’ll be able to fully understand each player and get those combinations right.’’
‘’I believe that we should consider all the upcoming matches as cup finals, we should keep working extremely hard,’’ he concluded.
Usuthu’s next competitive action will be a last 16 fixture in the Telkom Knockout Challenge before they assemble at the Peter Mokaba stadium to face off against Baroka FC on 27 October.Share
