AmaZulu FC First Team Fitness Conditioning Trainer, Joshua Smith took the Usuthu U13s squad through their paces on 23 April as part of the junior’s preparations for the recently resumed domestic league program.
“The aim is to expose them to high performance testing at their early age. We’re starting the process of collecting players’ physical data for all the boys in the academy structures, and tracking their development,’’ said Smith.
According to Smith the willingness to imbibe more knowledge at their tender age is evidence the juniors have a bright future ahead of them at Usuthu.
The club’s Youth Technical Director, Ronnie Moroka praised the innovative means that the KZN club has in place to assist the growth of its youth development structures.
“The support from people such as Josh in Conditioning with his time with from Bafana Bafana, the first team technical staff always on hand to assist, our boys will definitely improve.”
“It’s also important for the club at this stage because we have a new coach in Nhlanhla Zwane for the U13s. The collective effort at the club is very important to produce quality players,” said Moroka.Share
