Sage – Competition is good

AmaZulu goalkeeper Sage Stephens says he is enjoying the competition for places at he club.

Despite having conceded in the club’s last match against FC Cape Town, Sage feels it is the small errors that they need to work on as a team.

“We are disappointed with the recent results. There is no excuse but a bit of luck is needed. Again it has not been easy making that adjustment from the PSL to the National First Division. It was not the desired results that we got on Saturday, but we must keep our heads high and keep working,” said Sage.

With Zimbabwean goalkeeper Energy Murambadoro having fully recovered from injury, Sage said he is happy for the push that he gets from him.

“I don’t see it as competition. I see it as rather a complement and as a form of motivation. Having a guy like Energy in the team is great because he keeps one working hard at all times,” he said.
