“On behalf of the chairman Dr Patrick Sokhela and the board of directors we’d like to convey our heartfelt condolences for the great man’s passing.”

“South Africa is where it is today for the extreme sacrifices him and a lot of struggle heroes took. We honour him more for inspiring peace and reconciliation among our many cultural differences. May his soul rest in peace,” said AmaZulu PR & Communications Manager, Philani Mabaso.

For two consecutive years the club has played in the former statesman’s 94th & 95th birthday commemorative international friendly matches against Manchester United and Manchester City.
